13 cooling fans - Page 2

If the cable looks like this then you won't need anything extra. the molex adapter can connect directly to another molex

you will need something else though if you want to connect them to the board

The better question is where are you going to fit 13 fans?

13 is a bit overkill indeed, I personally wouldn't trust your motherboard to take all of the fans either, I mean I know it doesn't have 13 slots for fans, hell HAF932 doesn't have that many slots I think it only has 10? Unless your doing some modding to fit more.

But ya fitting too many fans to your mobo, some mobo's can't handle it, since its such a large draw.

my new case is HAF 932 (chose it over HAF X for many reasons). the side can support more than 4 120mm fans (requires extra mod); the top can support up to 3 120mm fans. Including 230mm front fan and 140mm rear fan. The rest on the drive bays. Oh, not to mention Noctua D14's 120mm and 140mm fans.

I'm worried about this build.
1: So many fans... there is going to come a point where it is going to become worthless...
2: The builder had to be told the fans came with the connections he needed.

Good luck my friend!

Adding extra fans to blow air around in the case does close to nothing fyi =P

Your focus on cooling a case is to get as much fresh "cool" air in and hot air out.

So, having top exhaust, side and front intake, and any other applicable.

I've tried the rediculus amount of fan things, its not going to make anything cooler, trust me I have a HAF 932, I've been there... I've had nearly 13 fans on the thing, doens't help whatso ever, however putting a more powerful fan on the Heatsink is worthwhile.

Is it a good idea to make every fan go exhaust? I just want decent temps for my overclocked build (mainly CPU).
At the moment, my side panel has 4 120mm fans that are set as exhaust.
my top has 2 120mm exhausted fans
the 140mm exhausted fan
the 230mm exhausted fan.

in fact, all of my cooling fans (including the D14 coolers) are set as exhaust.

or is a mix of exhaust and intake fans better?

edit- didn't read the last post. so setting the side (4 120mms) fans as intake is better? just these intake fans and the rest exhaust? would that really make cooler temps?
I'm not really sure... my room is kinda warm (more than 20c) coz my walls have crazy insulations
