Something I dont understand about gaming mouse reviews....

Thread Starter
is that....

they don't mention such important things like Weight !!

or total length, wide and height !!

damn....I can count with the fingers of one hand the amount of sites that provide that info

I was searching reviews of the g500, g700 and Performance MX...and damn...only ONE site mention the weight....

I ended discovering the weight of the performance MX in and old post in engadget from 2009...

Most mouse reviews are completely useless. If I want quality information on a mouse, I will ask a friend of mine who, like me, dabbles in buying and trying lots of such hardware. He can tell me far more than any review.

Yeah, mouse reviews are almost all horrible wastes of time other than the pictures if you haven't seen it yet. The usual mouse review conclusion:

" It works, I played WoW VERY well with it and it has a pretty logo. BUY THIS ASAP 5 outta 5!!!!"

I really wish a review site would take mouse reviews seriously and start providing much more information. For an example, proper power supply reviews put the PSU through various tests to see how good of a power supply it actually is. Any review site could easily setup a rig like Sujoy's from ESR, test each mouse on different surfaces and provide a weight without cable.

Too bad nobody takes a mouse serious enough to do that yet...

Mouse reviews do suck, but most manufacturers have that information open on their websites so it's not the main reason why the reviews suck.

I wouldn't trust any hardware sites that don't specifically specialize in mice. More than likely the guy reviewing the product doesn't know crap about sensor performance and gloats or complains about how high or low the DPI is without explaining the benefits or different playing styles.

Nah usually they complain that it isn't wireless, doesn't have logitech scrollwheel, doesn't use Logitech Darkfield Laser Tracking/Microsoft BlueTrack or finallythe looks of the mouse

Sounds like a good project for someone to pick up. Get some of OCNs mouse gurus to help with some solid reviews.
