newegg e-mail response regarding p67

Just got this e-mail from newegg

"In early February, we sent you an e-mail notifying you of a design issue with the Intel Sandy Bridge compatible motherboard model you recently purchased from our site. We are writing to inform you that very limited numbers of replacement motherboards are beginning to arrive in our warehouses from the manufacturer. We will begin making them available in batches based on the date the original items were purchased. No further action regarding this specific order and item is required from you at this time. As soon as we receive shipment for the date range of your order we will notify you promptly.

At Newegg, we are committed to making this process easy and convenient for you. In the meantime, if you are using your product, we advise you to continue following the tips and suggestions provided in our earlier e-mail in order to bypass the issue.

We appreciate your patience in this matter and thank you for your patronage!

Sincerely,
Newegg.com "

Well , i just hope Asus starts releasing their boards soon , i really cant stand my UD7 and want to get rid of it with minimal to no downtime, when i called newegg a few weeks back they said they would offer me newegg credit and i can pay the difference on the Asus M4E.

Although i am scared that when my date range comes up they will force me to either get the new B3 board replacement or just hold on to my refund money in the form of store credit leaving me computer-less, while i wait for the Asus M4E to hit retail....

I hope newegg lets me keep my current board until the revised Asus M4E boards come out so i can at that time use my refund to pay for the M4E.

Anyone have any clarification on this ? This whole process just seems a bit shady....

lol what is not wrong with my UD7, it operates like its broken when it is not...There is a growing consensus that this board is just extremely finicky when compared with the reliability of the Asus boards.

I would go into detail but i have done that way too many times, just search for the posts i have made if you are really interested. I just cant stand the board anymore...I want my Asus board but im wary of the process going on right now with newegg.

Asus has already started the RMA process for their boards... I am sure they will have boards available for sale once they are satisfied they have covered the customers that want their boards RMA'd

I got the same e-mail from newegg.ca; I read a post earlier this week about someone who got an e-mail from the egg saying they were ready to ship his replacement and just needed to know what his/her decision was.

It all depends when you bought it really.

the issue is going to be: when he returns the board for the credit... the asus may not be available yet, since they are probably going to be holding onto all stock for RMAs at this point. And Asus's priority is going to be its customer's RMA's over another company's... or even a new customer.

my email was a little different....

Quote:

Dear Valued Customer,

Great news! In early February, we sent you an e-mail notifying you of a design issue with the Intel Sandy Bridge compatible motherboard model you recently purchased from our site. We are pleased to announce we expect to receive our first batch of replacement motherboards soon and, based on your purchase date, you are eligible to request your replacement at this time for the specific order and item information provided below.

Item number available for replacement at this time: 13-128-464
Item description: MB GIGABYTE|GA-P67A-UD5 P67 LGA1155

To guarantee your replacement, please reply to this email within the next 7 business days. We currently have a very limited supply of replacements and unless we hear from you within that time frame, we will release unclaimed units to the next in line.

At Newegg, we are committed to making this process easy and convenient for you. Please note the options below and reply to this e-mail with your selection in the subject line:

A. Regular RMA
Regular RMAs are shipped once we receive your original unit. Once we receive your e-mail, we will create an RMA and send you a free return shipping label. Once we receive the original item from you, Newegg will ship the replacement to the original shipping address.

B. Advanced RMA
Advanced RMAs allow us to ship the replacement to you promptly and gives you 30 days to return the original unit. Once we receive your e-mail, a Customer Service Representative will contact you within 2 to 3 business days to process your RMA. Advanced RMAs require a Credit Card authorization: in the event we do not receive the defective replacement within 30 days from the date the replacement is shipped, the credit card you provide on the phone will be charged in the amount of the product retail price. Please include the best phone number to reach you at in your email but do NOT include your credit card information.

C. Not Interested
If you are not interested in a replacement, or have initiated a replacement with the manufacturer, you can either reply with "C" or "Not Interested" in the subject line, or simply disregard this email.

If you do decide to return your product, please send back the original retail box (if available) and all accessories originally included. Your replacement is a brand new item and is equipped with new accessories. All replacements will be mailed to the original shipping address unless otherwise specified in your e-mail.

We appreciate your patience in this matter and thank you for your patronage!

Sincerely,
Newegg.com

I ordered mine on Jan 17 so I think they are going by order date. So depending on when you ordered your board is when your rma will be available
