I'll have to disagree with you on this one. I have always owned PC's and I have an old Apple Laptop (Powerbook G4 if you're interested in which one).
When I got the laptop it was already a couple years old, but it still managed every-day computing just fine. I used it for school work and IM'ing, as well as listening to music. It was probably the best experience I've had with a computer yet.
This is one of the reasons I am getting a Macbook Pro soon. Beside the great OS, it's a beautiful laptop with one of the best battery lifes. To me, this is the laptop that makes the most sense since I need something that looks professional and has a long battery life.
I know I could get better performance off a similarly-priced Alienware or w/e laptop, but it doesn't have some of the qualities the Apple product does.
