Who cares about how much ram a device has if you can't notice the difference. So they advertise the experience, not the actual specs.
That's a fair enough point. I'm not a big fan of Apple, either, and my beef isn't as much with them as it is with the author of that article. He comes off as such a blatant fanboy, that it seems he couldn't care less about which product is "better" (even to him) . . . it comes down to if he sees an Apple logo it means that, regardless of any other aspect, they are delivering the superior experience because . . . it's Apple.

Sounds like you have not used many apple products lately and seen the superior user experience for yourself.

They OBVIOUSLY haven't seen Crysis run on max settings with TOD mods...

Is that suppose to be sarcasm? I've spent HOURS using iPods, iPads, and iMacs.

"Superior" user experience is subjective. If you think that just because it's Apple, it's better - then you sir, are the definition of a fanboy.

The thing about about Apple is that they give their users just enough within tech specs to do what an "average" person needs to do. And that quite frankly is a formula that works for them. What Jobs said at the end of the iPad 2 media event simply stated what their position in the tech world means, and that is to provide as many people as possible the best and greatest experience possible. However, I will never ever agree with paying a premium for "just enough" hardware no matter "magical" or "revolutionary" the product

Apple has undeniably defined the tablet market and continues to do so. All of what Josh wrote cannot be said for any other company.

Apple = religious/ideological debate

Is Apple's UI truly superior? Or have we been brainwashed?

True, but being the first does not always mean being the best. In time, the iPad will be obscured by a plethora of superior tablets - though except popularity and brand prestige. Apple though knows it won't really keep being top dog in a particular field so it will "revolutionize" yet another niche device, where it would be once again unparalleled in the market.

Making fun of someone who enjoys a good user experience is like making fun of someone driving an Audi A6 as you fly by them on your Suzuki Hayabusa or fully riced out Mitsubishi Eclipse. Sure the latter choices may be faster and more customizable, but the Audi is a much more balanced care with a greater poise

That's your opinion. Even if a company (initially) "defines" a type of product, it doesn't mean another company can't make it better. Edit: And remember that "better" is subjective.

Edit: Still just your opinion. So what if were true though? It doesn't disqualify him of being a obvious fanboy.

You're trying to take opinion and quantify it as fact to justify someone's obviously biased position.
