While the lack of any screwless removable panels makes the new MacBook Pro even more sturdy than its already herculean predecessor, it does mean that to swap hard drives you need to remove ten screws to get the bottom cover off then another two to get the hard drive out.

I love how when we talk prices its always Apple with a refurb versus a new PC...

Wake up. Its a rip of the MBP so you got the aesthetic, the rest is performance... granted they need to update to SB - but they are doing that now... I know students who have got these for ~$700...

I had an implicit facepalm during all the reading time. Lol'd very hard at the end.

Also btw in college I never used my laptop to take notes for 5 or more hours a day. Not saying you won't... I was a slacker. Plus I studied engineering where it is much more important to pay attention to the concepts than it is to be typing 80wpm.

i don't understand why it's taken HTC et al to catch up on that front.

I'm disappointed with HTC lately too. But to state apples's multitouch is good isn't all that correct. It has the exact same issues my HP TM-2 has with touch recongition. Accuracy is quite far off.

Like it or not, Apple changed everything for the better.

15.4 inch with similar specs as the one posted is 1299. Amazing. I'm going sager for my next laptop (if ever).

The same exact quality/warranty. You can choose to be a sucker and pay full price though if you want. So far all the comparisons are close in pricing/specs but are horridly huge and heavier.
