i7 2820qm vs. i7 2600

Thread Starter
I have an old 17" laptop which is a pain to carry around for school, but was looking at getting a desktop because I am doing HD video editing and didn't think I could get a laptop for a reasonable price which would work for that. i was going to purchase an HP with a I7-2600 processor, but noticed that I could get a laptop with a I7-2820qm processor for about $100 dollars more. I was wondering if the 2820qm is a big step down from the 2600

Laptops usually lack in other areas. Go for the desktop, or better yet, build your own with a 2600k, OC it to 5Ghz. That will blow both of them away.
