What don't you get? The iPad is a solid tablet computer. That's not my opinion, that's everyone's opinion. Traditional PC Tablets never took off because they were huge, had poor usability and interface, and were prohibitively expensive. They still are to this day.

It's not fanboy talk here. There hasn't been a similar device to the iPad ever. They created this new market (the consumer tablet). That much is apparent by the way every one else, ie Motorola, RIM, etc, are hopping on board and releasing a similar product.

There's a reason the iPad sells the way it does. It's not marketing, it's not just because it's Apple, or anything like that. It's actually a good product. It sells itself. That much is universally accepted by anyone that's not emotionally invested here.

Furthermore, if tablets did "suck", then all these financial gurus wouldnt be predicting the HUGE amount of sales for the next few years, that includes ones by Apple, Moto, etc.

Wait, wait, what? You mean the face of a company is trying to bolster the public view of their upcoming product?! Never heard of that happening...

True for phones but for tablets it's different there is rarely an android counterpart to the iPad apps.

Android will catch up but for tablets, apple still has the lead IMO.

Xoom looks to be a great product that is comparable to the iPad 2 but they have a long way to go software-wise. Honeycomb is new and will need some tweaking to be ''perfect'' and the devs are just starting to do apps that really take advantage of the screen real estate of a tablet.

So I honestly think that for this year apple will be the leader BUT next year I think that it will be a pretty big fight between Apple and android.

So nice of you to tell me what my opinion is. I don't want a ipad or a ipad2. The xoom sounds better to me. I'm afraid of the trouble I might run into when I try to jailbreak my device just so I can make it usable. I don't like apple deciding what I can and can't run on something that I view as a pc. In my opinion it would be nice if these tablets doubled as drawing pads. I would buy the day of release.

3d tvs with glasses have had a huge financial backing and in my opinion they are failures. Tablet pc is still a pc to me. I'll replace my phone once a year but I will need a tablet that will last me 3 years at least and in my opinion nothing on the market is good enough for me to invest into.

In short, the ipad2 isn't solid to everyone.

Not anymore. Now you cm get them at the same price of an iPad. And they come in all sizes from 5.6" to 13". And I'm using one to write this post, with Win7's handwriting recognition.

I'm sorry but it IS because it is apple, it may be a good product in its own right but it would never have gotten near the attention it did if it wasn't sold under apples name. That doesn't remove the fact that it is good at what it does(aside from lack of multitasking, yukkk) but to claim the brand has NOTHING to do with the way it sold is a ridiculous claim.
