Memory underclocking itself????

Thread Starter
Hi I have a MSI 870A Fuzion motherboard and a pair of G.Skill ripjaws 1600 memory. I hit the Overclock auto Genie and it made my system really fast for gaming I checked temps and everything good, however I looked at the memory frequency through CPUz and it downclocked my memory from 1600 to 600-800 but no higher. Cant figure out how to change this in the bios to go back up too 1600 or atleast 1333. can some one please shed some light on this for me. I get good FPS in games just want the most for what i pay for. Thanks in advanced.

If it says 800 then it is running at 1600 (800x2). But you should really do the OC yourself and not use the OC Genie.

PLease explain why how that works? 800 so its running at 1600?

I usually oc myself however, with the 1055t it is so far out of my knowledge on how to do it that I just tried the genie that has a profile specific for it and it works. Again thanks for any help.

DDR stands for double data rate. That means that you need to multiply the reported speed by 2 to get its actual speed. Give me a sec and I'll dig up the thread that covers 1055 overclocking through BIOS.

EDIT: http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/720502-1055t-owners-club.html

Take a read of the first post.

One thing to take note of is that the temps are reported funny on the 1055s. Core temp is about 10 degrees lower than the actual CPU temp.

Hope this helps,
Brodie

Dual data rate. 800 would be correct speed.

The max safe temp for a 6900 series GPU's is something like 104C. 80C is absolutely typical, probably even in the lower half from what I've seen; you could always increase the fan speed to lower the temperature further, but it wouldn't be necessary.

By the way, you might want to consider entering in your full system specs! Just go into your User CP then click Add System on the left-hand side. Makes it easier for issues to be diagnosed, even though you don't seem to have any! tongue.gif
