1090t, Crosshair IV Formula and 2000mHz - Page 2

Thread Starter
Well, I havent had a chance to try 4.1ghz yet.
I installed a new LG Blu Ray and now my machine wont even post.
Switch it on, begins to fire up for 2 seconds. Then shuts down....
Turn the switch off on the PSU, allow the residual to drain. Try again, same thing.

Q_leds light up one after the other, then returns to CPU and then the system shuts down again.
I have tried one GPU, one RAM stick, no GPU, alternated the RAM sticks, re-seated the CPU ( all pins fine, no signs of scorching), disconnected power to fans, lights, drives etc.
I have even tried jump starts on the PSU, which she fires up and runs until I switch it off. Even tried this with the fans and lighting connected.
All plugs are seated correctly, even tried disconnecting and re-conecting header pins, to eliminate case switches.

What have I missed? what else should I be looking for?

I am at my wits end, could the mobo be shagged?
The system had been rock solid until now, it devoured everything I threw at it.

Hello,
i got pretty much the same build as you ( exept for the kingston ddr3 hyperX 1600mhz memory).

That memory is overclockable to 2000mhz.

Whats the settings if i wanna overclock my memory to 2000mhz ?

Everytime i go over 1666mhz, i receive the error message : overclock failed !

AMD pehom II X6 1090T / Crosshair - Formula IV

FSB : 250
MULTI : 15
CPU/NB freq : 3000
HT LINK : 2000
Memory : 2000 7-9-7-24
CPU/volt : 1.4v
CPU/NB volt : 1.65v
Memory volt : 1.65v

Whats wrong with it

Help my guys PLEASE.

thank you very much.

The memory controller most likely can't handle 3000mhz CPU/NB and 2000Mhz RAM. The best thing to do would be to leave the CPU/NB at 3ghz and run your ram @ 1333-->1600 at the lowest/tightest timings possible.

thanks for the fast reply,
My ram is at 1600mhz NOT overclocked. I wanna overclock it to 2000mhz.
But your telling me that i cant ?
If i cant, what could be the 'lowest/tightest' timing possible ?

I will need a link to the RAM you're using. Overclocking to 2000mhz isn't going to make any performance difference with AMD due to it's memory controller.

thanks for your reply,
thats pretty "lame" that increasing memory clock frenquency doesnt affect perfomances =/.

Well, if you can actually boot at 7-9-7-24 at 2000mhz, run the RAM at 7-9-7-24 @ 1600mhz.

CPU Multi: x20 for 4ghz 1.4v-ish.
CPU/NB: 3ghz. 1.3v

I can run stable at 4ghz.
But memory wont go over 1666 mhz...
sincerely, Thank you sooo much for you help , but that does not work.
Im kind of disapointed.
