Which components to look for future build.

Currently working on designs on nifty Google Sketchup I recently learned about... and HA I thought I was going to learn AutoCAD to build this.

Anyway not getting into great detail regarding the build I'm running topic to topic as ideas come to and from that need to be addressed in this build.

Next on the list at least now that I'm starting design, is some of the watercooling components.

In short what I'm looking for in the water cooling components is:

-Small form factor

-Reliable

-Can work under 360 degree environment (Including rad).

-As much power as needed to keep optimal cooling.
(i.e. so pump etc will not be the cooling bottleneck)

-Quietness is a factor but on a lower scale.



And some Mock up's the the build I just started whipping together today, so far only have it down to a Tray, and a rough area of which I'm allowed to put components in.

What do you mean by "360" environment.

360 Environment, defining that no mater which way I turn the system it will continue working, while I know the rest of the components are capable of this I know this can run into some issues with Water cooling.

I've looked around a bit but couldn't find very much specific information on set ups, at least Small form factor ones.

(i.e. not sure if they are decent but the Res/Pump Combo's, and if there is one that if you fill the look correctly and negate all air it can work in any orientation.

Well that's good to know that you aren't planning to run your PC inside of an oven...

Oven thats a new one =), no in a nut shell the project is integrating a laptop peripherials/ screen etc to a compact high powered desktop.

And so far I've found I can do it.... I HAVE THE technology!! (excuse my Mr. Gadget reference)

Lookin good. But if you want compact, why are you going with watercooled triple rad? might be able to save some space by going a different cooling route? or atleast smaller rad or something? Just a suggestion, nice drawings !

Compact but as powerful as possible, I haven't done much looking into cooling differences on double, or single or other cooling methods, I figured since I can fit a triple rad in the back of this fairly nicely then why not.

I don't plan to hold this system back and want it to be capable of top end when built.

honestly the way its looking right now not too sure on GPU set up, but I was thinking of using PCI-E bands so I can place the GPU's elsewhere, but considering doing a Dual GPU at this point just run into the problem of no PCI-E for a wireless card but can prob figure out something.


So I need a loop that is capable of, CPU, NB/SB (not sure what is going to be in Haswell I hear of possible changes), Possibly up to 2 GPU units (Possibly 2x Dual GPU Cards, not sure though since I'm favoring Nvidia at this point and their dual GPU's have been iffy.

Like I said I'm just in a design phase right now, so I'm trying to sort out the large pieces so I can cookie cut this thing together and get a good idea, a huge majority of the small pieces and wiring can and will be hidden in the gutted laptop body, LCD control board, etc.

+ I want this to be a negative pressure case, so wasn't 100% sure but I imagine if possible and using it for exhaust purposes in this game a large exhaust based rad should be fine.

You will need the equivalent of a 480rad to cool 2 gnu 1 CPU and mobo regs. So a 360 and 120 will have enough heat dissipation to cool your setup.

360 + a 120 so a second rad correct?

What is at the top end required for say 2x either something like a 580 or possibly 2x "590" or 5970, + NB/SB + CPU, all heavily overclocked benching.

There is still a bottom side to this rig so I'd say there is room for another 120 -> 240, just up to designing to be accessible, not 100% sure, at this point really considering designing it to incorporable the exhaust on the laptop.
