Well first you should fill out system specs in User CP so we know what hardware you have. Second, if you go into msconfig under run, there is a option that sets the numbers of cores that allows you to boot with. Make sure its unchecked. And lastly Core unlocker, 9 times out of ten needs to be enabled in BIOS.

He probably enabled Advanced Clock Calibration or Core Unlock in your BIOS, which should be relatively easy to enable again if you wish to have the fourth 'hidden' core back in use and working. As to why the computer/BIOS were showing only two cores, that's really odd.. can't see why it would do that.

He meant use http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem to fill out your system specs, and double posting isn't great

OK, easy on me mate, im still new at this stuff... last question for a while, in BIOS i found this:

Unleashing mode [Enabled]
Active CPU cores [Manual]
2nd core [on]

4th core [off]
5th core [on]

Set your active CPU cores to auto instead of manual.

With the Asus motherboard, if for any reason it fails to POST, it will reset all your overclocking and unlocking settings.
It's possible that your 4th core is not 100% stable. So if it causes the occasional problem, then the mobo should automatically disable it. If you didn't change anything, that's probably how it got turned off in the first place.
