$110 Budget For A Mech. Keyboard! - Page 2

Your only real choice is the Rosewill RK-9000. Anything else is going to be either too bush-league to be comfortable with (over, say, a sidewinder x4) or way out of your budget.

not true. Das keyboards are also around the $100+ mark and to me seem the most impressive ive come across in my research. *Although I have never actually used it, or any other mech keyboard*

I thought they were $120+

ninja edit: well it looks like you can buy refurbs on their website for ~$105 http://store.daskeyboard.com/b/2258657011. shopping.google.com doesn't show any lower prices.

Plus you can grab a new Rosewill for ~$80

Thank you guys for your input so far.
Now I'm between the Rosewill RK-9000 and a refurbed Das Keyboard, the Ultimate [blank keys] to be precise.
With Das' reputation and reliability I would imagine a refurbed one to be practically like new.

Save some money up and buy a Deck Legend Fire.

Currently I can afford 20 Deck Legend Fires but I capped my budget to $110 as I'm trying to save a bit.
Now if I was going all out it would most certainly be one of my choices.

They're $130 unless you get a student discount. They're also pretty much the same as the Rosewill. I'm not sure if they have NKRO like the Rosewill does though.

I bought a BWU about 3 weeks ago. I have put tons of gaming hours on this thing. WoW, Rift, CS:S, Crysis 2 Demo, Bad Company 2, and some other games. I haven't had any issues with it at all.

Razer does have its quirks, sometimes the stuff isn't all that great. My first DA lasted me 4 months, my second DA I got back from RMA has lasted me a little over 3 years now. So it just depends, sometimes you can get a lemon and it sucks. But it doesn't mean that they all are crap.

My BWU so far for the 3 weeks+ I've had is great and check out Manyaks review on it. I also have 4 buddies with Blackwidows, and they all seem fine. Good luck with your choice though, I spent awhile looking into keyboards. Ultimately, I just like some of the features the Razer has, this ability to macro any key, esp on the fly in-game is awesome.

So overall, the review Manyak did and the added features the Razer has, tipped me in favor of it, gaming wise. If I wasn't gaming then I would have probably have picked up a Leopold or Filco. Which you can game fine on those, it just becomes a matter of what you really want.

The funny thing about reviews is that people don't wait a few months to write them. There are people whose Blackwidows have died, but it took longer than 3 weeks.

Well eventually everything will crap out, right? You can only review something based on a shorter time frame. I'm sure if every BW dies in a few months, Razer would have a class action lawsuit on them.

What do you do though? Wait for something to die before you review it? Could be months or years. Manyak had stated from a quality standpoint it was well made. Going from that, I felt confident in purchasing the KB.

No matter what brand you buy into, your never 100% secure with having it last ages. At least the Razer is easy to return and deal with if an issue does come up.
