Yeah $18.12 for the cheapest shipping option for a keyboard is simply retarded.

Surprise no one recommended the Leopold Tenkeyless keyboard. Not sure if it's cheaper than Das with student discount + free ground shipping, but EK is taking pre-orders tomorrow. Seems like a good value anyway, but I'm not sure when does it arrive. Some say mid-March, but it could be later.

I was just going to mention that. Also important to note that they are tenkeyless so no numpad.

Interested in an ergonomic?

I've got a Reveal KB-7061 ergonomic mechanical. White Alps switches, doubleshot keycaps.

I've gone ahead and ordered a Das Keyboard, the Ultimate. [the blank key version]
It was $104.xx, free S&H with a 20% off student discount.

-If my budget were bigger or if I ever looked at the keys the XArmor U9BL-S LED would have been one of my top choices.
-I would have looked into the Leopold Tenkeyless but I am "that one guy" who uses the number pad religiously.
-Phaedrus2129, I've seen the keyboard that you're talking about in the past, it's not my cup of tea but I know of a few guys who are crazy about them.

I thank you all for helping me out. =]

Congrats! Hope you enjoy your Das

Which switch type did you decide on?

Congrats on your Das I've had mine since September of 2010, and it's still working just as well as the first day I got it. Keys are a bit shiny now (apparently I type in excess of 50,000 keystrokes on a "light use" day), but that's the only downside really. The lettering is still very clear and more importantly the keys haven't lost any of their mechanical function.

And for $104, I'm guessing you got the Browns? If I recall, my browns were $104 as well whereas Blues were $96.

Thanks.
I ordered the Ultimate, which uses the MX blues.
Originally $129.00, -20% from student discount. The browns are selling for $135 now.

I went ahead with the Ultimate because I knew ultimately [no pun intended] is that my keys would fade eventually, and it bugs the crap out of me. Plus I think it makes my keyboard rather unique, how often does an Average Joe see a keyboard that's blank?
It will also help me with typing in the long run, as it will eliminate any urge to look down at my keyboard.

Hopefully it'll be here soon, I can't wait to ditch this Lycosa. I was able to find a buyer within 30 seconds of my sale post.
I may post a short review afterwards, seeing as how many people are indecisive between Das, BWU, Ducky, RK-9000, etc.
