I think it's like saying those Monster cables are $100 more than you'd expect.

What? They did grant it? They needed him to have a copy of Windows running because their application that retrieves system information (such as warranty ID) is written for Windows. This shouldn't be a big deal. Do you suggest HP write code for every OS in existence so that warranty ID's can be retrieved? Of course not. In the end you're always going to be covered, they owe you that hardware warranty - it is not void. You just need to provide your warranty ID... thats all...

Its like calling Apple up and asking them for help with a problem. They send you some diagnostic utilities and you have a freak out because you're using Windows and their help tools only run on OSX.

seeing how it gets good fps at COD4, I would say it can run CSS smoothly. It doesnt take much to run a source engine nowadays

This looks like a very nice laptop, just wondering, would this be able to play sc2 at 720p at minimum settings with 30+ fps constant?

Edit: checked reviews, it can kind of run it but big battles make it stutter.

The bloated HP software takes it to an entire new level though, my Samsung is fast (even with bloated stuff installed) and my mums Dell didn't come with much.

A HP that came into work? Took about 1 minute to speed up after you logged in due to the bloatware.

I don't see why people complain about bloatware. How else do you think your getting the laptop for such low prices?

Feature for feature HP is cheaper than most other brands of laptops on the market.

I picked up a 18.4" HP Core i5 with 640GB for ~$1100 after taxes and shipping, that price wouldn't be possible a couple years ago.
Shhhhh!
