acer has been getting better IMO

the TimelineX series is the only cheap series of lappies out there that can game decently and get GOOD battery life

in fixing computers, i see the MOST problems with acers because of their poor build quality, hinges go, screens break, keys fall off, battery doesnt hold a charge. really the only brand that comes close to how many of them i see is toshiba.

asus is a tad bit more expensive, but it really is worth it. they are much sturdier and will definately last longer. i personally have an HP dv6 and asus z39t, and the hp's battery only lasted 2 years before it started not holding a charge, and the asus is only a year old, but is still kicking quite well. asus build quality really does prove to be worth it

The thing is that the acer gets better benchmark scores but still gets lower fps on some games while having more powerful specs(at least on paper). I'm also big on OCing laptops (ya its bad I know), so I need to know how reliable is asus vs acer in tech support now. I know before Asus was much better but now I'm hearing missed reviews.

i have heard a lot of horror stories about acer tech support, such as sending it for repair or RMA and getting it back with no power cord or missing the battery, or with a key missing. only to have acer say that it had arrived like that.

i have never had to RMA an ASUS laptop, but if their tech support for laptops is the same as their mobo's, it will be pretty dang good

"Toshiba has recently implemented changes to the service parts inventory fulfillment process. Unfortunately, these changes have resulted in unexpected delays in the repair parts delivery process. Resolving the delays caused by these changes is Toshiba's top priority. Toshiba regrets this inconvenience and is working diligently to complete the repair of your product as quickly as possible."

Been out of a gaming laptop for 2 weeks now. hopefully Asus isn't as bad with the repairs. I'm glad the technicians that they give my laptops to have no idea that I OC the crap out of the laptop to the point that the GPU and fans give in.
