turning bass to max?

Thread Starter
i was wondering will the lifespan for subwoofer wear out if you turn ur bass volume to max. and adjust the volume to 50% and listen for music for hours everyday.
(i noe it's still going to wear but will it wear out faster if you turn ur bass nob to max)
thanks

What is the "bass" knob attached to?

I'd never turn anything up to 100%, it usually operates poorly at max.

I'd probably leave it at 75%

You can turn it up, but electronics tend to perform poorly at 100% and you'll probably introduce distortion or strain on the amp.

Please, use proper grammar. It's a knob, on the back of the subwoofer. I wouldn't turn it all the way up, simply because it will probably not function as well. The Bass on my system sounds much better at about 75% then at 100%.

As far as wear and tear is concerned, it might reduce the lifetime of the sub, and if it's a really cheap sub and you put lots of power into it, it might break sooner.

Turn bass up to 400% like a boss.

Breaking your speakers will be the best thing you ever did

On a serious note, music simply sounds BAD with bass that high. Just keep bass at 50% or something and work with an equalizer.

Make sure to put it in your trunk afterwards, and loosen all the fittings in your quarter panels and license plate.

Good point also, subwoofers are meant to fill the sound out. In my old car, a 10 inch sub in a box was MORE than enough to function properly. If you can't clearly hear the rest of the song over the bass you are just distorting the mix.

But some people just like bass for the bass of it.
