Looking for a nice, sub $100 pair of headsets for gaming

Title says it all. I'm running with a nice 5.1 surround system ATM but as it turns out, no everyone in my house appreciates it as much as I do. That said, I'm looking to buy a nice headset for gaming. A mic would be nice but for now, I don't need it. However, if its theres, I won't gripe. I do not have a sounds card as my mobo was designed poorly and my x16/x16 PCI-e slots are next to my PCIe and PCI slots. Not sure if a sounds card matters much now but just putting it out there

For gaming, a sound card is important if you really want to make use of your equipment and get the edge in gaming.

Everyone here is going to recommend you not buy a USB headset or any headset for the most part as they're all usually inferior to the headphone+attachable mic solution in terms of price and quality of sound.

That said, for 90 dollars you can score

. Add a 12 dollar and you have 105 total and you'll have one of the best gaming head(sets) under 300 dollars.

Now, if 100 is REALLY your maximum and that INCLUDES a sound card...another option is to buy , 12 dollar and a Xonar DX (used, from either OCN audio section or ebay...or craigslist..or w/e).

BURGERS FOR THA' BOYS.

As much as I want to, I don't have the space for a sound card. I was rather pissy when I found out. Either great graphics, or great sound. In any case, how much would I be losing if I just used my motherboard jack?

I agree 100% on Simca's suggestion. That's what I use myself .
