Non-overclocking Sandy Bridge MB

Thread Starter
If I'm looking at i5/i7 for a non-overclocking system (it's for my uncle) is an H67 chipset board fine? Or should I grab the P67 anyways? Prime concern is longevity (can it last 5 years?).

Only one GPU (GTX460 or Quadro FX 580) will be installed.

Any suggestions? The only ATX mobo that's currently available on newegg (and isn't the Asus extreme) is this one: MSI P67-G65

No but really... what does your uncle do? Any light gaming? If not, then do you really need a dedicated GPU?

Oh, this is for a photoshop/AutoCad/CorelDraw build. Non-OCing because it's a machine for his small business (solar installer + furniture) that I won't have physical access to all the time to tweak or fix. And it needs to be future proof.

There's a sales guy (one of my uncle's employees) who's technology adept enough to build the system, so he's ordering to the store and building it with my instructions. Since he does sales though, I can't use his time asking him to OC.

if you are going with a discrete graphics card go with the P67... might as well be able to OC it down the line... take it from 3.3 now (i5) to high 4s in a couple years if it starts to feel slow.

Also there will be more 67 motherboards in soon... they just fixed the SATA controllers! and right now most of the available stock is being reserved for RMAs...
