Shogun 2 system requirements

Heya, i was just looking at the Shogun 2: Total War system requirements. And in the "recommended" thing, it says i need a 2nd Generation Intel® Core™i5 processor or AMD equivalent. My processor is an AMD Phenom(tm( II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz. I was just wondering if mine was better or worse than then Intel. Because i fill out all the other system requirements by far.

(If you want to know, my processor "score" from the Windows experience index is 5.9.. Although the only one that is in 5.9 is the "Disc Transaction Speed" If you can say it like that. All the others are on 7.5)

Just use canyourunit.com and you can find out if it would be all right. Since the game does stress your cpu you may have to OC a bit just to get better performance or of course upgrade.

I'm very positive it will run easy. a 955be beats q9550 so it will beat some of the i5 cpus. 955 is a strong chip.
But dont forget, gpu has a part in running a game too.

The q9xxx series is faster clock for clock than phenom II's. I realize you said compared to the 955 but considering you can overclock both to near the same speed so the speed clock for clock speed is much more

That being said, OP your cpu will be just fine. Maybe overclock it a bit if it is showing issues but overall it should be fine.

Heya! I ran a test at "canyourunit.com" and it said i passed everything, that was recommended. The system requirements bar, if you can say so, even looked like this.

SLOW Minimum/ Pass / Recommended FAST
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
__________________________________________________ ____

(the "--" is supposed to represent how the bar looked, and the "__" is supposed to represent how good my system was):.

So thats something positive! But if i experience some problems when i get it anyways, could someone here teach me how to "overclock"? Sorry, but im not a computer genius.

Just go to your respective chips forums (in your case it would be amd ) and try to find a guide on it and there may even be one for your exact model with step by step instructions.

If you pass the recommended specs you should have no issues unless the specs they have are just completely wrong of what happens in the game.

Also, you could try downloading the demo on steam they have to get a preview of what you could expect from the game framerate wise. It has a short campaign and a historical battle to play which can give you an idea of how smoothly your computer will run it.

no issues with double sli, but 3 gtx 480's no go with this game. actually overheated my #2 gpu to 101C in a very short period of time. fps was about 12. disabled sli in nvidia control panel and works great. what do you think is happening?
