Canadian MX Brown Board?

Hello overclock.net keyboard forum! First Post

I have been reading OCN for about a week now as I am trying to figure out which mechanical keyboard I want. I have several friends with the steelseries 6gv2 with Cherry MX Black switches and feel that the keys are a little too stiff and I would like tactile feedback to tell me when it has been activated as I found myself having to repress keys sometimes when actions were not being performed.

I tried the Razer Blackwidow in the store and like the feedback and the force required for the MX Blue switches but would like quieter switches than that. Also I would like to avoid Razer due to bad experiences with both my old Deathadder mouse and my current Lycosa keyboard.

So I have settled on the MX brown switch as the one that will fulfill my needs, thanks to your excellent Mechanical Keyboard guide. I want a fullsize keyboard but have only been able to find the Das Keyboard Professional Model S Silent in Canada. If I am going to pay that much for a keyboard I would much rather have the looks of a Filco or Ducky. The Leopold's at EK look nice too but are only available in tenkeyless.

Does anybody know how I can get Ducky or Filco keyboards in Canada?

any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks for being such a great resource here at OCN!

Contact TankGuys via e-mail if you want to order a Ducky. As for EK and Leopolds, they won't have the full-size boards for at least a few weeks.

Thanks so much, I didn't realize that EK is going to get the full-size Leopold's. I will wait to see the pricing and everything on them before I make my final decision.

Excellent to know that TankGuy is willing to consider Canadian orders!

Which brand would be the easiest to get replacement keys for (Ducky or Leopold)?
I am thinking that sometime down the line I would like to buy some different colored keys to customize my board.

They're both Cherry switch keyboards so they use the same type of keycaps.

Ok I was wondering if they would use the same key caps because they were the same switches.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

You sure about that? The ONE thing I can't verify about Leopolds is the type of keycaps they use; I've heard POM, PBT, and ABS, and from what I can tell nobody's bothered to confirm which one it is.

Stay away from the Irocks Kr6230. The non-standard layout is horrible. The main problem with this keyboard is they moved the '?/' key so they could fit the arrow keys onto a condensed keyboard.

What ends up happening is you type out a long message then you press SHIFT and '?' to get a question mark. You often will hit SHIFT and the UP arrow instead. This is a shortcut to highlight your last row of typing. The next key you hit deletes your message.

I own this keyboard and it is one of the worst investments I have made. I love the cherry MX browns but it is horrible.
