I THOUGHT someone stole my 570... (Update) - Page 7

That sucks...

This week I got a video card I did through a trade here and guess where the box with the video card was? It was in the sidewalk!!!!!!!!!!!

Where I live there is a big mail box for the whole block and lucky it is almost in front of my house, but it's like 25+ feet away from my door. The dam USPS lady left the box next to the mail box by the side walk. I just happened to go work around the time she left it there (I had checked mail 30 mins before) and as I go out the door I see a box. I went to check it and it had my name on it!!!! It was a 5770 + cash I got in a trade for my 5870.

If Asus didn't pay for insurance coverage, I'd sue them for negligence.

Take it to small claims court, (or at least threaten it). They will settle before it hits and replace the card.
Hero!

By the way, I can remember countless times when UPS said my package had been delivered but wasn't on my doorstep; a few times, my neighbor had taken the packages (she's old), but I've had times where the package didn't get delivered till the next day or even 2 days later.

I had problems with UPS this past Christmas. I was expecting a package that required a signature. I was home expecting the package and 3 times they delivered it without ringing the door bell. They left a note but didn't ring the bell. And when I complained about it they gave me a hard time. Whenever they deliver packages without signature they just drop and run. This hasn't happen when I've used USPS. So for all the complaints about USPS I have to say they at least ring the bell.

Man I can't even say anything about this but good luck.

This happened to one of my buddies. Asus is going to have to submit a claim to Fed Ex because only the sender can open a claim. Then Fed Ex will "investigate" the claim before they either issue a check to ASUS to pay for a replacement or to you. This process takes a couple weeks.....

You are pretty much hosed.

Chances are, it wasn't even delivered.

I've had this same thought, and same feeling in my gut, but turns out, it's just the UPS/FedEx guy fibbing on his report saying he delivered something when he didn't, then goes back the next day and delivers it.

I think it's kinda like the people at Jack in the Box telling you to pull up front so they can bring it out to you. It's just to make them look good even though they aren't doing their job like they should be.

The origin of his trip was about an hour away... so at 5am he started at Dayton, NJ and made his way to Toms River, NJ... so I guess it's possible. IDK, just depressed.
