need more space and dont care about data. i think

Well i have a WD cavier black 500gb. its got about 100gb of space left now, and i was thinking about buying another one for raid 0 that would give me better performance and another 500gb to work with right?

its just a home computer with nothing important on it except music and movies and games mostly, so im not too worried if the data is lost (i could esaily aqquire what i actually need again)

what im wondering is if this is probably the best option for me, and im wondering how exactly bad is it the losses if the data is lost in a raid set up. would the HDDS still be usable afterwards or would i have to completely buy new ones? and is the performance increases relatively significant? like atleast 25% faster?

You will have NO data once you add the drive to an array.
You'll generally get ~80% of the sum of both drives as far as sequential R/W is concerned.
Seek time stays the same.

Also, in RAID 0 if you have one drive die you lose all data.

So adding a new drive to the current one i have will erase all of my current data? or is there a way i could move what i wanted to a different drive and then bring it back to the drives once i have them setup in raid 0?
