Raid 0 w/ SSD's Worth it? - Page 2

i don't know if your motherboard has raid.

But select raid as hdd mode like AHCI or something but set it on raid.

reboot, screen will come with raid disks click the combination to go into raid bios.

Make raid.

done.

From info I have learned in the last 24 hours no. Go SSD over RAID 0.

Dang. Thought you asked something else. Ignore.

I'm sure his MB is capable of RAID but I don't know which drivers he needs.

no need for drivers as if a motherboard has an raid chip he can select it in his BIOS
but if you wanna software RAID it cuz your motherboard doesn't has a raid chip, sure.

Also, SSD don't really gain much speed on raid, random read still stays same.
As windows boot wouldn't really gain much.

Games won't gain really much but yeah, i would leave it as it is and TRIM,
Cuz not having TRIM is a lot of trouble of keeping the disk in top condition.

I've run 3 different SSD RAID0 set-ups and I can assure you the speeds increase dramatically.

He doesn't have hardware RAID (no chip) but will be using his SB850 to do the job.

OP, go to Asus's driver page and do what you gotta do to find the drivers.

You'll need to reinstall your OS in RAID mode and add the drivers at some time during the install.
