Question about prime95 and my oc

Thread Starter
hey, running a 2600k on a stock cooler on a p8p67 pro mobo. Currently upped the volts just a tad and with prime95 edging out a 75c. So I'm comfortable with that. QUESTION. Running prime95 and coretemp, coretemp says the speed is at 3.4ghz, but if I run a program say 3dmark11 my score will show the overclock at 4.0ghz. Is this because 3dmark11 triggers the turbo and prime95 doesnt? So for an accurate prime95 should I be disable the turbo and speedstep?

(clicked the Check if Already posted btw)

Ignore core temp, it told me my Q6600 was at 4.3GHz the other day, hell, I can barely get it to 3 (mutters something about B3).

Trust CPU-Z for clock speeds.

you can set all 4 turbo steps to the same 40x multiplier. that way all turbo modes are 4ghz.
