AMD RaidXpert Question - Page 2

I can see it coming......

"Help Help...my RAID1 array doesn't appear in the BIOS"....

Seriously, RAID was made for HD mechanical breakdowns and not for safe storage.

In case you haven't heard..."RAID is not a back-up". smile.gif

Get away from the "RAID Whatever for AMD" and do a reliable back-up with separate drives in separate places if you actually care about the info.

AMD is horrible at RAID but I dunno if they even have anything to do with this RaidExpert system nor do I care.

I'd rely on that AMDExpert RAID as much as I'd rely on the man in the moon. smile.gif

Oh, I think you misunderstand me. smile.gif

I have everything I need backed up. It's returning my PC to the state it's in now with all of that data - it's cumbersome and time consuming because I never took the time to make images of all my data - so it has to be done manually.

I simply started using the RAID-0 array because it improved speeds over a 2xHDD system. smile.gif

If and when I finally decide to invest in some RAM (extra, another 12GB) I'll create a RAM drive for a few things and revert back to a 2xHDD system instead of RAID. I'm still wondering if anyone has any information, one way or another about the question in my OP.

I "see" says the blind Old Hippie and I'm sorry for confusing you with someone else that doesn't take the time to make back-ups. smile.gif

Write-caching and NCQ are enabled on each drive in the RAIDXpert configuration but do I also need to enable it as a policy on the drive in device manager in Windows? Or does it not matter?
I wouldn't hesitate to enable the options.
