Best cpu cooler for mid tower case?

Thread Starter
I know i've posted about this before, and i was recommended a cooler master hyper 212 plus. However, I'm not buying it as it won't fit in my case.

Case: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition

Dimensions
430mm (H) x 190mm (W) x 473mm (L)

What is the best/ some of the best cpu coolers that I could fit in this case? And i measured inside the case today and it seems i have 160mm from the surface of the mobo to the case side plate (height of hyper 212+ is 158.5mm) so it's way too close to fit in there.
Are there any coolers that are comparable to the hyper 212+ but a little bit smaller?
Many thanks for the help.

edit: i just realised i forgot to tell you guys what socket i have: well i have AM3

Why not the Hyper 212+ ? It's quite an efficient cooler, and it's price is fantastic

Oh alright, I thought you just didn't want it because of it's looks rolleyes.gif

Well in your case, you can use a Corsair H50, which is pretty much tubing and a 120mm radiator and a pump/waterblock integrated solution for the CPU, it should fit unquestionably in your V3.

But if you are looking for a cheaper solution, try the Hyper TX3 from coolermaster, don't get tricked by the push-pin and inferior looks. People have achieved great overclocks with the mini cooler.

H50/70 is great if your case is cramped

I doubt the H70 can fit "comfortably" because the radiator really is quite thick, and the H50 can cool any AMD chip quite comfortably (I'm assuming it's an AMD Phenom II 955/965 or a 6 core).

alright thanks for the help. i might go with the tx3, not as good as the 212 plus but still looks like a great little cooler!

You could always do low-profile. This would be better:
