Just curious i have a i5 2500 not the K version.

To do just a slight overclock is it possible, and shuld i go through bios or use the software that came on the driver cd ?

On the non unlocked versions of the Sandy Bridge CPU's you can't OC them other than the Intel turbo-boost feature which automatically ups the clock speed a bit when doing something processor intensive or something. But don't quote me on it.

Ok cheers, its not that i really need to i only use it to play games, and the 2500 stock is more then enough to run all my games, cheers for the help guys.

one of my mates got the 2500 at the same time as i got my 2500k and we both have them clocked @ 4ghz with stock cooling and there awesome! his does idle about 44 tho so id reccomend an aftermarket cooler!

take the multiplier up to 38 (fairly sure thats as far as the 2500 multi can go) then increase the core clock to get it up to 4Ghz it took him seconds.

EDIT: bois all the way.
