The Maximus IV is for really pushing the limits. I know that for me, it is still a little too far out of my league. I don't game much (instead I do HD video editing) so I've opted for the P8P67 Deluxe (whenever it finds it's way back into stores). The Deluxe offers just enough capability beyond my current OCing skill level that I have plenty of room to grow and learn whereas the Maximus IV has so much potential beyond what I currently know how to do, that by the time I can tap into a fraction of it's capabilities, I'll be ready for a new board. It all comes down to this: what do you intend to use it for and how much of it's capabilities do you think you will be able to utilize? They're both exquisite boards (from what I've read) and they're both loaded with learning and skill potential. Hope this helps. Happy hunting.

Go for the combo with the M4E and Patriot ram.

i don't see the use for the maximus IV if you are not running 3 sli since it doesn't seem to have an advantage of overclocking over other mobo even if they promoted as it. The best overclockable sandy bridges cpu i have seen are with inexpensive mobo like asus p8p67 pro or gigabyte. Overclocking depends now in the cpu. You get a good one and it will overclock good in any mobo, get a bad one and nothing will save you, not even a asus maximus IV.
