DeathAdder Black Edition's side coating is wearing off

Thread Starter
Only after a month of normal usage (I'm not a heavy user/gamer), the side coating of DeathAdder Black Edition is already wearing off. I know it's pretty small in the picture but I'm afraid that it'll only get bigger.

Emailed Razer a few days ago just got a reply back asking for all my info for RMA. Hope it'll be a smooth process.

Just a heads-up for anyone else that might consider buying this mouse.

RMAing mine for an entirely different reason. It seems my lens casing is loose/rattling and screws up the lift off distance every time I lift and place down.

Back to the 3.0/1.1 and moderate sensitivity for the time being..

My DeathAdder original lasted... two and a half? years before the coating under the index finger spot chipped. After that, nearly a year and occasional double-clicking started a bit after I gave it to my roommate. This is all under heavy daily use. I wouldn't call that poorly made.

Yes, but it is by the very nature of quality control that there will be some good examples and some bad examples of a given piece of hardware. The fact that you had one good experience doesn't recant the countless others who have had bad ones with Razer products. I would chock it up to anecdote, but Razer gets it far more than Logitech, Microsoft or Steelseries for a reason: their products have a high failure rate.

lol I assured you, my fingernails aren't long since I keep them neat and trimmed.

But yeah, I would totally understand if it's been a year or more and under heavy usuage but with my case, it's only been a month... not to mention, under normal usage.

Oh well, I still have my R.A.T. 7 to fall back on if I have to RMA this thing back to Razer.
