Recommend me a laptop for my parents

Nothing flashy, as long as it works well.

Try to make the price less than 600$.

Would prefer if you used NCIX (Canada), Newegg may work, too.

Right now my parent's laptop is crappy and use up so much network it lags everyone, so we want to purchase another one.

Right now, I am looking at:

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58426&...nufacture=Acer
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58481&...=HP%20Consumer
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58128&...nufacture=ASUS

The last one is the best one, but is also the most expensive one.

I wanted to know if the first too is good enough for what they do such as streaming videos, surfing the net, etc. They don't play games because they're old. OLDD.

But yeah, I was wonder if you guys have any suggestions in any possible laptops they I should buy for them.

Thanks !

Usually the age of the laptop does not bog down the network, unless there are some malicious software on it.

But if you insist on getting a new laptop, The Asus would probably be the best choice out of those 3.

^What he said. I would reinstall Windows and see if there are any improvements.

Back on topic:
Out of those laptops, the Asus is the best by far. Not just component-wise, but build quality as well.

A notebook I guess, anything would work as long as it's not below 13 inches

Every brand has good and bad models, but the Acer/HP above have pretty standard features and specs.

I also recommend the Asus out of the three listed.
If you think about it, youll spend an extra $100 or so, but you keep the laptop for 3+ years.

Ive owned similar models in the past: 1201n, UL30vt, u30JC, with most Asus notebooks having one notable flaw: narrow viewing angles. Not an issue if u sit front and center, but worth mentioning.

I believe Toshiba makes the best, period. Great support, badass construction, even the touchpad is nicer. They're solid as a rock. Really, you'll be doing ok as long as you don't get a Dell; 90% of the ones I've had to fix for people were Dells.
