If i install a coolermaster hyper 212+ on my mobo and i have a push/pull arrangement with 2 fans, can I connect both fans to the motherboard to adjust their rpm when the pc is on? Do i need a special cable for this?

yeah just get a fan splitter and plug it into the cpu header and all should be fine.

You are doing pull/push so I am assuming two fans are same. Either stock blade master or something others fans. Blade master is 4pin PWM so you need this. If tow fans are 3pin , you use the one shown above. You connect the two fans to male 4pin and other end to cpu fan connector on mobo.

will having 2 fans work though? will the one mobo port be able to provide enough current for 2 fans? or should i connect one to the mobo and another to my psu?

if you are overclocking your cpu you might as well leave it at high speed since hyper 212 is a entry level heatsink. But if you arent overclocking, you really dont need two fans .

That's a fair point, I have a 212 and I used mobo connectors and just used 2 mobo fan power ports.

Unless sound is an issue, I would plug both into the PSU to get a decent current through them.

Depending on how you want fans work, it can connect to anywhere you want if you want fans spin at full speed all time but if they are pwm fans and you want utilize them to spin at different speed based on the cpu heat/temp signal then you should connect them to cpu fan connector.

I have my 1055t OC'd to 3.78ghz (270 bclk) and I also use the 212+. My ambients may be a bit lower but I only have one fan and it does wonders. Could probably go higher but so far my temps don't go over 51c after a few hrs of linpak and it's a comfortable OC.
