I've always been a WDC fan because I've never had a WDC drive fail on me. I still even have some that have files on them from 10 years ago and they run like new.
Saying that however, they are more expensive than other brands like Samsung. & the Sammys have gotten fantastic reviews as far as quietness & speed go. I'm not sure how they will fare in the reliability department as they are still pretty new to the game and there's no way to know until time passes.
& yea, you're not going to see any diff between 3 & 6 on a mechanical drive. At least not at this point in time.

Eh, you probably aren't going to benefit at all considering the disc itself cant read data fast enough to utilize the 6Gb/s. Its a good drive, I have two of them I am going to RAID here in a couple days, but if you got it to replace the samsung drive, I'd just stick with the samsung.
Did they re-enable TLER again? I know there was a big controversy over them disabling it in their newer drivers & firmware on the last generation SATA 3 32MB WD1001FALS.
I was going to get a second 2TB and RAID until i read about that.
