What's the most op class in Rift right now?

Thread Starter
Just wondering what class you guys think is the most op in Rift right now.

Currently I have a Ranger/Marksman/Bard at 19 and a Elementalist/Stormcaller at 9.

Maybe it's just me but I've never felt so weak and un powerful in a MMO before. I'm not saying the game is bad. In fact I'm enjoying the hell out of it. My classes just feel incredibly weak though. I'm not asking to 1 shot a mob or anything but honest to god at 19 there are level 15 and 16 mobs that I have to shoot 20 times with arrows to kill. That's crazy !?

The clerics are probabley the most OP at the moment. So dam hard to kill and they put out good damage.

My advice is this, different classes scale differently in power through out early game to end game so keep playing the class if you enjoy it. They will probabley get better as you level.

Also try and a new soul system , look on the forums for a good solo build.

I'd have to "agree" with Krymore with the fact that Clerics seem to be "OP" as i never seem to be able to out damage their healing and I'm spec'd as a Paragon/Champion/Riftblade.

I do have to say this though. Every class will consider another class as "OP" based on their knowledge of who is harder to kill in 1on1 situations. Every class has its strong points and weaknesses and people need to understand that. There was a mage on 30-39 chat the other day complaining that Void Knights were OP because he couldnt kill them and all i could of was the fact that this guy was a complete dumbass because he didnt understand the fact that Void Knights are built almost solely to be anti-caster.

2-3x the damage? There is nothing in the warlord tree save the spotters order that is going to be increasing your damage.

i am definately interested in what you think in warlord is increasing your damage that much.

as for the OP. All classes handle scenarios differently. My justicar/inquisitor build can handle up to 4-5 equal level mobs pounding on him at the same time forever. My paladin tank can do 5-6 at the same time, but cant do it forever.

Those are 2 classes meant to get hit, mages and depending on the rogue build, you are meant to kill things individually. Sure you wont be able to kill that many mobs at the same time, but you will kill them all individually faster than my justicar or paladin can chew threw the same amount of mobs.

Interesting, i'm gonna have to try out a Paragon build to see how it does compared to my Champion build. From what i've heard from some of my guildies is that Paragon is a more sustained damage output whereas Champion is more geared towards spiked damage.

I'm gonna check that out tonight.

honestly, I will have to check. It's mostly because my par/chmp/pld tree was so poorly built. I came to the conclusion that I should focus on what I need as supposed to handy traits. For example. Paragon is dual wielding, so why would I need a DH class tree (chmp), and the paladin tree deals mostly with shields and stuff (although the full heal is handy). So, I made a new class. I will post the build and rotation as soon as I get internet back (stupid school servers put me in quarantine because I had too many connections open in my room or something (I have 5 computers, 3 of which were folding at the time.)

Interesting, I heard that it was the opposite, that Paragon did more burst damage, and that Champion did more sustained damage. However, it kind of makes sense as all the buffs gained in the paragon tree buff your character for extra damage and are renewable by the time they expire (plus all the buffs you get from the other souls).

What's awesome about this game is that it is so new that know one knows everything yet!

talk to you soon SB haha <3

I'm not sure which class is OP so far as I haven't pvp a lot so far. But from what I experienced warriors were doing some incredible damage to me, but then again I'm a mage so that is expected.

I found warlock/elemental pretty nice for soloing. You get awesome dots and a pet to tank, along with fear for CC.

Right now I'm trying pyro/warlock. I'm lvl 19 btw.
