1150 Build, Suggestions and Opinions Welcome!

Thread Starter
Not sure if this is the right place to ask my question, but if so, an answer or feedback would be much appreciated. Before I post what Im thinking of building, let me tell you what it will be for.

I own a web development and SEO company, we run many programs simultaneously that take up a lot of memory and require a lot of speed. as far as gaming goes if any its minimal, and wont require a whole lot. really what i need in this desktop, is SPEED, POWER, STORAGE, and MEMORY! so after much research Ive selected the following to build my computer, right now this build will cost me 1100.00 for all the parts, and i intend on assembling, and overclocking myself. It has been years since Ive built a computer, but its like riding a horse.

So without further Adue, here is the Build, your comments, suggestions, and Opinions, are welcome, also if i can save here and their, please let me know. I will be running windows 7 Ultimate

Mother Board : ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU : Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950

Memory : Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

Hard Drive : Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive x 2 raided 0

Video Card : XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP

Case : Rosewill ARMOR Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ,Full mesh design front bezel, comes with Six Fans

Power Supply : CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Thank you all :hello: Also im new to raiding, hard drives but from my understanding the mother board I have chosen, is raid ready so i shouldn't need anything extra to do so, please advise

John

Get 1156 ditch the x58,you dont need it.But if you get the x58 be sure to get triple channel memory! Since you own a company i'd also do raid 1 and not 0 due to failure rates.

Thank you for your input, What is the Reasoning behind going with 1156 and not the x58?

Also I was thinking raid 0 for speed, its my understanding that raid 1 acts as a constant backup everything that goes to one drive, copies to the other as well.

The programs I will be running are all threaded and bog the current crap we have now, What ever build I decided to go with, we will be ordering 5 of them for now.

thank you

I think he means 1155...

Sandy Bridge (2600k and 2500k) is 32nm, overclocks way better, and is faster than the first generation of i7 (920, 930, 950, etc...) 1366 is a great platform, but 1155 is newer, faster, and not much more expensive. It would be pretty stupid IMO to build a 1366 based computer now. Also 1155 is rumored to support Ivy Bridge with bios updates, so that is another enticement.

Yeah, im already looking at going with a bigger PSU, man I really like that Sandy Bridge now, but finding a mobo is a pain, seems if i go with the x58 chipset their are more options available. When are they coming out with more mobo's? What are yall using?

Get the Biostar TP67XE or Gigabyte P67A-UD4. This board looks really awesome but I don't know if it's ever coming out...
