replaced motherboard without reformatting hard drive - question!

I have a s3600 slim line pc made by HP. The mobo went bad so I replaced it with a zotac ge force 9300. I did not reformat the hard drive I just swapped out mobo and booted. I did have driver issues but they were repaired with windows updates. I have no yellow exclamation marks in device manager so everything looks good but what really gets me is that when I go to system in control panel it still states that the pc is a HP. I installed speecy and it does see the correct mobo but windows still thinks this is a HP. I did refresh the windows experience index and it did change the score but it still thinks its a HP. I am running vista 64bit and let me know what you guys think. I just wonder if the chipset is still the old HP mobo drivers.

Um,because you are still using the "HP" system OS.If you had formatted you wouldn't have that problem.

Nothing to worry about. I assume you're using the operating system that came on the computer? That HP logo is probably just tied to the operating system.

I am , I never reformatted I just swapped out mobo's without reformatting. So this cant become a problem? When I try to install the drivers disk I get an error and says STOP, The current drivers and not compatible with the chipset but yet when I go to device manager I have no yellow exclamations. Really weird.

it wont affect much other than notifications by the hp software tied with the original OS install. so long as you have the right drivers for whatever components installed there should be no problems. but if it were up to me i would indeed do a fresh install to get rid of the annoying HP notifications.

Yeah it caused some confusion cause of the HP info but all of the drivers seem to be ok.
