Going for 1Ghz OC.

Hey guys i have decided to go for a 1Ghz overclock taking the 955 up to 4.2Ghz.

As with the current set up what do you think i will have to set my vcore at to get it stable?

Also what is the max cpu-nb voltage it can go to as i wanna get it to 3Ghz.

For a 4.2GHz speed you would probably have to use a vcore higher than 1.42v, there is no way of guessing it so you must test it yourself. As for 3GHz cpu-nb, generally all 955s are able to do that at 1.35v.

I currently have my vcore at 1.43 @ 4.2Ghz. Running P95 for nearly 2 hours and seems to be ok but will leave it overnight. then have a go at the cpu-nb tommorow. Thanks for the input.

Good lord! Really guys! I didnt have quiet the luck with Denebs. I would think 4.0 on a X4 955 would take 1.475-1.52v and 4.2 would be on the luck of the draw if you can even get that high on air.

I was able to get 10+ hours of P95 of 4Ghz @ 1.368v but want to go higher.

Nice!

If you sell that chip keep those screenshots of that chip hitting those clocks at those volts and you can get good denero.

Cuz quiet frankly I'm skeptical.

Dang. Lol, I almost want to trade you cpu's straight up. Not really, but nice.

Like I said. Its kinda blurry, but save that. Your chip will be worth a little more then the 955's hitting 4.0 at 1.5v and ect.

4.2 should be attainable.

Oh craps....good overclock...but that voltage will have to be raised to get to 4.2 for my chip 4ghz is done with stock voltage but above that i.e. my current sig rig the voltage for the cpu is 1.45v and the cpu-nb is 1.3
