I get better everything with sabayon. It's one of my favourite distros.

I don't know how to interpret those numbers at the top. Going to have to wait for some more benchies.

for what it's worth, "rumors" from chiphell are relatively "accurate", i remember before sandy bridge came out they did a ppd test too, and it showed ~50k, which turned out to be spot on for a ~5ghz 2600k

I have no idea. If we were going to release any performance data we would do it through my blog. We would not do some backhanded way to sneak the data in.

But I am 99% sure that we won't have any official benchmarks until launch, it just doesn't make financial sense at this point.

Final Deadline 6 Days
K Factor 26.4
Bonus Factor 24.29

Total Points 217498.4
PPD 809994.02

That is 800K not 80K http://www.linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php
So 800,000 ppd divided by 2(16 core to 8 core) divided by 4(4 processors to 1) =100,000 ppd roughly
But then you have to remember this is at server clocks probably
So...120,000 ppd on an 8-core desktop chip?

Is bulldozer ready to launch in April?

My concern is AMD is suppose to be better priced. I think if bulldozer is more powerful than SB, then you guys will just raise the price and then Intel SB will become the value processor. It would be nice to see AMD on top but still retain the best value at the same time. Some how, I doubt this will be the case...or maybe...AMD will finally be ready to be the best.

If it deserves the price, then I'll be glad they get paid. If SB becomes the value proc, there will be no losers.

Finally be the best? I guess you weren't around when Athlon 64s kicked P4s in the nuts.
