Most of the components are being delivered, but still waiting for MOBO to show up at various vendors.
1. Why the 2500K model and not the normal 2500 cpu? K model has hyperthreading and as of now the only game which might utilise that is Crysis2, and unless you'll be editing video's you'll have no use for it.

2. Which ram exactly?

3. Mobo: personally, i'd drop the Gigabyte mobo and focus on the other two, Asrock preferably. Lots of complaints about the stability of the Giga's.

Rest of it looks fine for your use.

Get the 2500K just for the sake of having it. May i also ask why you are getting a Hawk 460? Get an Asus board, you won't go wrong there mate!

The RAM is [ Ripjaws-X ] F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL 2X2 = 4GB.
As you said I did read a lot of complaints for both gigabyte and Asus boards and am thinking of getting the Asrock as it will be priced cheaper than these two.

I'm getting the 2500k because I'm looking to do some OCing.

How much did you get your Asus board for? I know Asus boards are reliable but this MSI Hawk OC was on sale at 159.99 CAD shipped so it was a good deal for me.
