[EA] Dragon Age 2 Commercial (2 more 9/10 reviews) - Page 3

I have so little interest in Dragon Age II due to the demo that I started the video and almost immediately started surfing in other windows. ~50 minutes later, I came back to this thread's window and realized I forgot all about the whole thing.

budget purchase nothing more.

i dont care what the reviews say.

the demo proved the combat is terrible, the animations are over the top final fantasy style, and art is terrible, along with terrible dialogue.

this. Plus the cut scenes are horrible. Between each dialogue ( switching character) There seems to be a pause that is really annoying

Can't see myself buying it full price. I want to wait and see how they handle DLC and expansions first.

Demos are really bad usually. I think they took a chunk of live game and just cut it out and locked it up, I mean my system had terrible issues running the demo in DX11 mode. I can't wait for the real game to be able to get into it.

I got it for $37.07 at Direct2Drive. For some reason they let me apply a 20% coupon after I got my 15% discount for being a FilePlanet subscriber.

If you use coupon code "burnout" you get 20% off. Brings the price down to $47 or something like that.

To top it off...I cannot recall Bioware ever doing a demo. I found the demo to be pretty bad ass personally. People whine way too much. I LOVED Dragon Age 1....it is probably my favorite CRPG ever. Well Fallout 2 might beat it but still. Despite me loving DA1 and seeing this is a bad sequel, I can still see that it is going to be an awesome game. I'm able to appreciate it as a completely separate game.

How could an rpg be any good when the art style sucks the textures are low res and the animations are over the top?

/sacrasm

I bought this the instance it went up for pre-order on steam, loved the demo. 2 MORE DAYS!

It was more of a generalization, that statement.

btw, PC Gamer gave it 94/100. I didnt know they were a console mag...
Well , give me an example of an aspect of DA2 that is more in depth tactically than DA:O.

There you have it.

The demo proved to me that it isn't a good game. They can give Superman64 100/100 and it still wouldn't make that game better.

I liked DA:O for the strategic element, and for the dark humour/storyline.

The demo didn't demonstrate either of these elements particularly well, which is why I be hatin' on it. I'll wait for a review from a site I trust (or for a couple of high scores on Metacritic) before I consider buying it.

Thankfully I'll get about 2 days to read reviews before the pre-order bonuses expire

For all the people that think combat is dumbed down and too easy watch this video from yesterday. I personally am going to be playing on hard, which they stated is more like DA:O's normal mode. You actually have to use all of your party members and do so strategically. For the people are crying about it go try the game on Nightmare as shown towards the end of this video.
