possible to oc 2500k with stock fan ? - Page 2

I would advise on getting an aftermarket cooler, depeding on how much you want to spend and how much performance you would want out of it.

The Coolermaster Hyper 212 is a great cooler for a cheap price, you can buy another fan for push/pull for only an extra $10.

At the high price end there is the Noctua D-14 which is an exceptional cooler that performs amazingly with whatever you can throw at it. It is on the expensive side but for it's performance I wouldn't justify it for a second.

You CAN overclock on the stock fan. I am, no problems. My load temps are about 60C. Just don't run any stress tests.

I'm getting a Hyper 212+ on monday =D But you can happily OC to 4GHz on the stock cooler.

I have that case. I think you should be alright as long as you don't have a side panel fan on it.

why is everyone acting like 75c in prime is a huge deal

i load at 77c in prime95

everyday (gaming) use never sees anything above 61c. not to mention it's been at this voltage for about 6 weeks with no issues.
