i just cancelled my order on my msi p67a-gd65 after realizing it has only 1 usb 2.0 header and 1 usb 3.0 header. i need at least 2 2.0 headers, as i would like to leave the 3.0 open for future use

what do you mean header? and what are onboard usb's even used for?
a header, is the usb port directly on your motherboard. (as opposed to the ones on the back panel) i use 1 for the 2 usb ports on the front of my case, and 1 for my memory card reader.

USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0...So if you need (2) onboard usb 2.0 headers, you still have it.

Check the first page of that thread out on the boot problems with the p67PRO. I have one now, which will be getting sent back for the new boards once they come in. I followed the simple directions in that thread and had no issues with my board at all.
