Help with overclocking Corsair Dominator GT DHX+

Hi

I just bought a kit of 2x2gb Corsair DOMINATOR GT DHX+ ddr3 memories.
I'm supposed to be able to run them in 2000 mHz, since it's a pair of pc16000.
But when I overclock them in bios the computer crashes after a while. I think it's because I use some utility in bios that overclocks the computer automatically. So my question is how do I overclock them manually? I know I need higher voltage and different timings, but how high voltage and what timings? Is there any other thing I should change?

I run them in unganged mode because my cpucooler is too close to the memories.

I know there's a lot ot threads about the subject but I don't understand it.

Regards!

you can not run 2000 with Phenom II 955, I think is too much for it, but try 1800 -1900.
With my old combo(955 and CH IV) I hit like 1850 for RAM and 3000 for CPU/NB

I overclocked it to 1700 something with 9-9-9-24 timings and it seemed to run stable, didn't do any stress tests since the computer seemed to load slower than before. Is it just imagination or what?

I changed the clock to 1600 again and run them in 7-8-7-20. But do I dare change to even quicker timings?

Why arent you doing them at 2000 again? It wont boot? Isnt stable? Did you increase NB voltage?

I've got my 6 gb corsair dominators (2000, 7-8-7-20 2T) running along nicely at 2053 Mhz 7-7-6-20 on an intel system with a pretty massive cpu overclock.

There is a section in bios where you can change the ratio for the cpu/ram settings. set this to 4:1 and your ram should be at 1600. from there you will have to raise your cpu overclock. Your ram will scale with your cpu overclock. Since you bought a quality, high speed ram kit, I think your cpu will hit its limit before your ram does.

I'm pretty sure that to get your ram to run at rated speed, you would have to overclock your cpu higher than you will be able to. Start with 1600 and work your way up until you find your peak values. when you get things stable, then you can try to tighten up timings and lower voltages.

I was never able to run them in 2000 mHz. BIOS says that the overclock failed and I have to run at default or go in and lower the frequency. That's my problem, I don't know how to adjust everything to run them in 2000 mHz. With the OC utility in BIOS I could run them at 1888 but not stable.

The FSB: DRAM ratio is 1:4 and the memories are running at 1600 mhz now. I have overclocked the cpu to 3.65 gHz stable before on an other mb with ddr2 kingston memories. However I downclocked it again to 3.2 since it's more than enough for the most things and the cpufan noise gets lower. Would 3.6 gHz do the trick to get the memories to 2000 mHz?

Can't I overclock just the memories?
