Crossfire 5770 and 5870?

Right now I have a powercolor 5770 1gb and sapphire 5870 2gb, can they be crossfired together. I never messed with video cards much, I thought you could only crossfire like cards, like 2 5770's or 2 5870's. But someone asked why don't I crossfire my 5770 and my 5870. Is this possible and would it give me any better framerates?
One has 800 proccessing core, the other has 1600, but the memory speed is the same, and the type, but ones 128bit and the other is 256.

These are the 2 cards.

No you cannot crossfire different cards from different series...

You could crossfire the 5770 with another 5770 or a 5750...The 5870 can be crossfired with a 5970(essenitially a 5870X2) 5870, 5850 or 5830..

Yeah that's what I thought, but I had to make absolutely sure since I don't mess with crossfire.

5770 > Another card of the 57xx series. That's it.

5870 > Another 58xx series (or 5970 if applicable).
