Recommendation for Budget CPU cooler?

Thread Starter
Basically I don't like the stock cooler that came with CPU, so im wondering anyone knows what is best cheap cooler, also size is important plus ease of installation ? (has thermal paste applied to it or not?) etc

Here's a pic of inside my case, maybe could help eliminate some of the big coolers and see which would would fit?

most coolers will fit nicely

your case does have an access hole in the mobo tray
212+ great cooler for the price, more difficult to install need to get to the backside of the motherboard
n520 not quite as good as the 212+, easier to install, still need to access the back of the board

Thanks for fixing it for me lol hmm what about Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Quiet (Rev 2) or say Xigmatek HDT-S1283 CPU Cooler? their prices seem ok too... basically im not too savvy with pc's yet, so i'd like to get the easiest installable cooler, and i think any upgrade will give me much betters temperatures anyway... Thanks

they would be easier to install
but the 212+ is definately a better cooler

you only need to install it once if you get it right
read the 212+ club thread for good directions

I have never used the Hyper myself. But I do like my Xigmatek Dark Knight. Paid about $45 for it and keeps my temps around 40C under 100% load. Honestley thats pretty impressive.

+1 for Hyper 212+
I purchased a Hyper 212+, although I have not gotten a chance to try it out. I'm waiting on the Sandy Bridge mobos to come back, as I won't even have a rig to put it in until then tongue.gif

Anyway, I purchased it because that's what most people seem to recommend (for inexpensive air coolers, that is). And it's not massive, compared to some coolers.
