Raiding 3TB drives

First Post.

Hello all,

I want to use 6 Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 3TB (STAC3000101) external drives as internal drives on the EVGA SR-2. The SR-2 has the Intel ICH10R chipset. Internally the drives are the 3 TB Barracuda XT (ST33000651AS) 32 MB cache versions. I will be using the drives for storage so it will NOT have to be bootable. Will the board be able see the drives fully, and then can it raid 5 them into a single drive, so that windows 7 ultimate 64bit can see it? Or should I just say F it and just use 2 TB drives, and go with 9 TB of storage instead of 13... :-( also with the build I am planning I don't have room for a raid card. Thank you for your time and help.

Thank you... well looks like if I want the least amount of trouble go with 2 TB drives since Intel is just now enabling just ACHI not raid, and who knows when that will be released. Thank you again.
