Just bought a Deck Legend Ice (tactile)

Anyone else have this keyboard? Please help me to justify spending $170 on this thing!

I really hope it's worth it. I am upgrading from a $10 generic keyboard from Walmart.

Well you bought one of the, if not the most solidly build Cherry MX mechanical keyboards on the market. I'm not sure what you need to justify. You wanted it, it cost $170 and you had that so you bought it.

I will admit I'm a bit jealous. I want the Frost version really badly, but I can't quite afford it.
Slowly upgrading.

I've got a Deck Legend Frost and I don't regret my decision to pick one up in the slightest. Not to scare you, but after about two weeks around half the LED's on my board stopped working. I talked to Deck Guy Adam on the Deck forums, and he got me an RMA code and even a free shipping label (which I couldn't use, but that's not Deck's fault). Sent it back and one week later the board came back to me good as new.

So customer service is exceptional, the build quality is great (the problem was with a portion of the PCB that I'm pretty sure isn't directly under QC control at Deck), and the board itself is wonderful to use.

Okay... here...

So you've been using this this crummy computer.. Its like wading around in some backwater swamp in northern MN getting bit by mosquito's. Now once you get the Deck it will be like jumping into Lake Superior in July thinking it will be warm and gross like the swamp but its freezing and refreshing..

In other words it's gonna rock your world.

I doubt they are worth the money. A $10 keyboard will do just fine.

On the other hand, I got the same keyboard (Deck Legend Ice tactile) a month ago and have no regrets. I think some things have a certain value to them that can not really be measured in money.

The thing that shocked me the most was that my wife didn't blink an eye when she noticed how much the Deck cost. I was prepared to do some fancy talking, but it wasn't necessary. Though she did think I was foolish when she saw how much my BMW motorcycle cost.

Deck Legend, the BMW of keyboards!
