Windows 7: Internet Goes Idle

Thread Starter
OK, I have been working at this and looking through all the options I can think of but I can't figure out how to keep Windows 7 from idling the internet when I'm downloading large files.

I am downloading a rather large file and would rather not sit and watch it dl. Is there a way to stop the internet connection from idling when I get up and walk away from my computer?

All of my power settings are set to performance/ highest power consumption on my sig rig but I just can't find an option anywhere... My HDDs are set to never turn off, which is what I thought the problem was originally. I also looked through all of the internet options with no luck.

Can anyone please help me out?

Hmm that's weird, are you connected using Ethernet or wifi?

Ethernet... I wouldn't probably be as weirded out as I am if it was on wifi. I know most wifi cards have built in power save features. I'm just hoping my integrated NIC doesn't have this.

Idling? explain this....either your download is stopping, your display is turning off or...?How do you "resume" it? What happens when you walk away?Does your ISP say he's not there anymore...turn it off!

Idling as in automatically killing my bandwidth/ dl speed from 700 KB/s to like 120 KB/s. It may actually be my ISP, which would suck...
