You mean like every other anti Apple thread posted? Kind of like that? The other threads are purely information?

its a nice thing that google actually has preventative measures to remove malware, i cant help but think they should have some regulation on the market though. theres alot of fishy apps out there, why would a live-wallpaper require access to my personal info, lol

There is an option you can select in the droid OS that says "allow installation of non market apps"

If you check that, you can do anything you want...

I really don't like this approach.

First, because it's a little Big Brotheresque; second because it's not as effective as it seems, because they seem to be working on a per case basis.

I would much rather prefer Google buy an Anti-virus company and just build in an antivirus algorithm into the OS'es code (so it runs faster and better).

WP7 can do this as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone has a backdoor as well.

People need to realize that Google really isn't evil. The may be a heartless mega-corporation, but they are a neutral heartless mega-corporation.

So when you buy an Android device, you've gotta deal not only with the hardware manufacturer, but the carrier, and then Google? Way too many parties involved here.
Yeah, I want Jobs to do all the thinking for me. I'm to stupid to do things on my own.
