When I did play BC, I only play with friends.Pubs are super boring on that game.
Me and my friend used to run around owning them all with just us.I just stayed back as a medic and spam revived him while killing anyone behind us.But on pubs no one does teamwork and stuff, and I'm usually a solo person.

Depends where you aim. I aim for the stomach up to the chest, wherever my aim takes me to first. At far distances, I aim for the head.

You also need to learn how to pre-aim, always be prepared for an enemy to pop out of a corner. Always keep your crosshair in the middle of the screen, not aiming down at the ground, or else it'll take you forever to bring your crosshair up.

You need a good headset to hear your enemies footsteps. This is just as important. Sometimes I'll play with no sound, not because it's harder, but because it makes you use your other senses more. Getting used to aiming at corners in case people pop out, turning around more often to check your 6, etc.

Playing FPS takes tons of dedication and hard work to be good. Even when you think you are good and no one can beat you, theres always someone who can edge out a win against you no matter how hard you try. Could be luck, latency, etc. Never give up.

Yes, that's a big one too. Lots of people seem to like to walk around looking down, aiming at the ground. If you do that, you'll always have a slower reaction to aim, since enemies don't pop out of the ground

Maybe you're having so much trouble because you're not having any fun, obsessing over getting "better". Just play for the fun of it.

Also, if you're getting the same result over and over again, you should try out a different strategy than the one you've been using all this time. Check out some strategy videos of your favorite games and learn 1 or 2 different things.

allways be aware of your surroundings, keep your head cool and think of an strategy before you make any movement, that has worked wonders for me.

but yeah, just have fun and enjoy the experience

Yes, it depends on the game. But you should always use your radar, just don't trust it completely 100%.

Such as in Call of Duty someone could be using cold blooded with a silencer. Even if your team has UAV, they won't be on the radar. But some games like Counter-Strike don't have any features like that, so if you shoot then you'll pop up on the map, unless you're using a silenced M4. But you'll also show up on the map if enemies spot you/you spot enemies.

Playing games is for the fun, winning is just icing on top of the cake you already have. I have the crappiest mouse/keyboard setup for gaming (Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000), yet when I occasionally fire up MW2, I do fairly well. Hardware shouldn't matter that much, just have fun. However, make sure your controls are set up decently (i.e. don't have crouch bound to something that you wouldn't be able to reach without moving from the WASD position).

I hate you for saying that. Controllers don't deserve it's rep for pc games. Stick with a mouse and keyboard. You wanna use a damn controller? Go play the pathetic console please.
